Cointalk asking me to download stuff

I am no longer on my computer, but earlier today while browsing cointalk I kept getting a pop up askin me to downloa an advertisement. It was one of those PC generated windows asking me to "save as" or ... "cancel" I think.
I didn't click anything. I just closed the window. But it happened several times while I was browsing.

Never happened to me.

I would scan my computer for a virus.

I agree. There is nothing on CT that will ever do that.

That said, there have been links posted before that lead to other web sites where that might happen. It has in fact happened. And every time a link that is discovered or reported then that link is removed by the staff immediately.

We always urge everybody to report such things.

There have been "invisible" links posted that lead to potentially harmful web sites. And if you don't know what an "invisible link" is - it's a seemingly blank part of a post that just looks like ordinary white background. But if your cursor passes over that area, your cursor swithces to the link indicator. And if you happen to click when the cursor is in that area - then off you go the "invisble link's" web site.

These things are quite tricky and almost always harmful. So be careful, and watch for them. And please report them !

Well, you guys were right, I have a virus. My computer won't even start. Looks like I'll be phone posting for the next little while.
