What was your First world coin?

Now I am guessing, that the majority of collectors on the forum are Americans. So the question would mean, what was your first coin not from the USA? For our members from other countries, that would mean which coin was your first that is not from your home country.

For me, I can't actually be sure what the first one was. It was probably a Canadian cent, as I have gotten a lot of them in change through the years.

But this is the first I remember! My dad brought this home from work one day. One of his job was as a bus mechanic but sometimes when none needed work he would sweep them out too. He found this coin wedged under a seat, I believe he told me. I can't get any more precise then that, as I lost my dad to cancer in 2002. He would have brought this home in the early 1990s. I would guess 1991 or 1992. He brought it home and gave it to me.

Sorry for the poor quality scan. It's a half Franc from 1987.
