Thanks Andrew. Something forgotten or never learned, but appreciate the information now.

Another site mentioned a rain that fell that prevented the buildings from further destruction.

Alot depends on what type of collector you are.

If you get goose bumps from attending the actual ceremony, then that Statue is the place to be to see Moy and assorted speakers and get your coins there. I haven't heard if they are setting up a temporary post office to get your rolls stamped and canceled. There has really been no press (zero) about this at all locally.

Union Station has a post office so you can buy there and then go to the post office.

If you just want the coins, then the mint stand at the headquarters is the place to go.

I have got first day coins for LP2 and LP3 issues. I've got all mine at the Mint headquaters. I tried Union Station for LP2 but the line was over an hour wait time.
To long for 6 rolls of cents, in my opinion...lol.

With 2 days to go what will the new 2010 cent be LP 10 ( American Flag with 34 stars ) & favored by the Comm. of Fine Arts, or the LP 13 ( the shield ) favored by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee , or will the Treasury Secretary go out on his own and pick a suprise design from all those other designs , only time will tell : )

Just realize that it will be the shield design and you will be just fine.

Are you going to the ceremony?
