Carl I have no idea what you're talking about. Do you mean where it says Private Messages ?
edit - OK, I forgot. When you have messages or requests waiting it changes to My Notifications. When you see that, it means that you have new Private Messages, Vistor Messages (which are found on your profile page), or new Friends Requests.

When I click on that there is this Incoming Freinds Requests item. I have several of them and don't know what to do with that. Might be my old age but just have no idea what to do with that. So how do I answer those?

Carl an Incoming Friends Request means that some other member is asking you to be their friend. When you get one, all you do is scroll down to where you see the name of the person making the request, place a check mark in th ebox beside their name and click on Accept. Assuming you want to be friends with that person. If you don't then just ignore them.

Then below that is the credits thing. Now well over 3 thousand and still no idea what to do with that also.

Carl the credits thing has been explained a hundred times. I really don't see what you can't understand about it. But I'll try one more time.
Every time you make a post you get a certain number of credits. Peter is working on setting up a new section called - Classified Ads. This will be a section for all members to make posts about they want to buy, coins they want to sell, or coins they'd like to trade.
In order to use this new system, it is not done yet, members will use their credits to pay for the ads they place.
Members will also be able to use their credits to buy ad banners on the site. You know, those ads you see all the time. They can use credits to pay for them.
It's just that simple.
Now, if you don't have any coins you;d like to buy, or sell or trade, and you don't want any ad banners. Then the credits will be of absolutely no use to you. But - you can give them away to other members who do want to use them if you choose to do so.
