2 new additions...including my #1 wanted "easy" note!

I went on vacation for a week, and stopped in at the local coin shop. There, I got two pieces of currency, including one that had been my #1 most wanted "easy" note. Since I am new to the hobby it's nothing spectacular, but it made my day, and I am still very happy that I was able to aquire it.

What I have figured out is a list of easy notes and hard notes that I want. "Easy" is stuff that is not very expensive, and not very rare; I just don't have it yet. "Hard" IS expensive and/or rare, and my #1 most wanted there has only 4 known examples, so it'll be on that want list for a long time-maybe forever.

Anyway, this note here is kind of just a bonus. I went in knowing that I wanted to get the second note I will show, but I ended up leaving with this one, too. (I had gone in previously that week so I knew he had the second note I will show, thus, I knew I would be getting it)

It's a 1953-B $2 United States Note. It's my first $2 with the Monticello reverse, and my third USN. I really like the red seals, I now have a $1, $2 and $5.

As I have stated many times over, I inherited a North Africa Emergency note, and that note, combined with a few others, gave me the currency bug; It led me here, to the SPMC, and more importantly...it made me a currency collector! Since I found out about it, I've wanted a Hawaii note, as a companion piece to my NA $1 but just in and of itself, too. Now, I finally got one! It may not be in the greatest condition, but I love it.

Thanks for letting me share!

PS...in case anyone is wondering...My "hard" #1 is the Wappingers Falls, NY National- as near as I can tell the only notes ever created for my home town...I have not decided on a new #1 "easy" note yet- It's either going to be higher denominations of the North Africa note, or ??

(This post was copy and pasted from the CU forum..I realize that I have not shared my currency much, if at all here on CoinTalk! I will be doing that shortly, I have about 600 or more pictures plus two dozen videos to upload from my trip, so I will either do it when I am done with all that or when I am waiting for said pictures and videos to upload!)

Nice notes! My hawaii note is similar to yours lol certainly seen some history Good luck on your #1 hard notes it just might take a while for one to come up for sale. As for your next easy note... ?? thats a toughie really. As many rare and/or expensive notes as there are, there are just as many less expensive and non-rare notes to be found. Good luck! And do keep us posted with your new and exciting purchases

Thanks for the comments, guys! I've decided my next easy wants are a USN $2* and a USN $5 Non-star (I have the star version already)...Shouldn't be too hard, but I don't have any spare money to spend right now!

I have been intruiged by the us notes as well recently, the red seal really catches my eye. Nice notes, and always like to see pics.
