The Winning Submission.
My name is Richard W and I am 16 years old. I have been collecting coins and banknotes for about 4 or 5 years now, and I must say I really enjoy this great hobby.
When my Dad was a teenager in the 70's he worked at his Uncles liquor store, and he would always get silver coins from the customers that came in, and he would get some old banknotes from customers also.
About a 4 or 5 years ago, my Dad gave me those silver coins and old banknotes, and that's what got me hooked on collecting coins and banknotes. My Dad and my Grandmother and the two big reasons why I started collecting.
Shortly before my Grandmother passed about 2 years ago, she found out that I collected coins and currency. So she gave me a big binder full of silver certificates, and red seal $2 dollar bills and some other old banknotes that she had saved over the years.
I think I would be a good choice for the prize because, I really enjoy collecting and I meet a lot of nice and great people while doing this fun hobby.
Although my collection may not be so big, it is a work in progress and each coin and banknote help make up my collection. Hopefully one day my collection can be as big as some of you veteran collectors out there.
