Thread: how much is 1955 copper penny worth?

I KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS A COPPER 1955 US PENNY. THEY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW MUCH IT IS WORTH AND WHAT DEALERS ARE IN THE NYC METROPOLITAIN AREA?

Welcome to the forum. If it is a common 1955 cent, it is probably worth only about 3 cents. There are extraordinary 1955 cents that are worth much more, but one should expect that probability to be very small. Only with a photo of both sides could one tell reasonably. But he probably should expect no more than the low value. I know that seems like ancient history to a young person, but in coins , it is recent times.
