Yeah, but with a maximum savings of 10,000 credits I'll never be able to save up and buy a big ad for myself

Sure you can, you can buy as many credits as you want. The 10k limit only applies to credits earned by posting. It is set that way precisely to stop, or at least limit, the type of nonsense going on in this thread.

See the link on the right side of the page that says - Sponsor Coin Talk. Click on that. It will lead you to a page where you can buy a side bar ad. The side bar ads cost 12,954 credits for a week's worth of advertising. But you can buy 10,000 credits for $28.27 Not terribly expensive for advertising that reaches 20,000 people, or more, in that week now is it ?

Want to know where I get that 20k number - just look at the number of people on-line sometime. Right now there are 235 visiting CT. That goes on all day and night long. 24-7 - Do the math figuring just 10 hrs a day.

It does not say the maximum you can have in checking though. Maybe that is just the maximum you can earn interest on.

True... so there's still a decent chance you will all see an ad here in the future that just says "illini420 was here"

I'll have to figure out a way to borrow some from you to advertise my photography services. Then you don't have to worry about any limits.

So I tried to buy an ad tonight and couldn't figure it out. I have enough credits to buy the headline banner for 1000 impressions and the only option it seems to give me is to "gift" the ad to another member?????

So how to I buy it for myself??? I was going to have my name on it, but I could have also linked it to my current eBay auctions or something or just linked it to one of my Registry set.

While watching my dog chase his tail I decided to log in and try to find out what CREDITs are used for, how to get them/ use them/ lose them. And now that I have some I STILL don't understand them.....or am I talking about my kids?
