view photos

I am a bit mystified by my ability to see photos on this site.

Many times, I can see the photo just fine, but also many times where there's no photo and no window for a photo, yet everybody's talking about the photo that I cannot view.

What am I missing here? My settings?

If it's just today, it's because I'm working on the site.

No, this problem is pervasive.

For example, I can see the jpg format images that I just uploaded today, and I see about half of the images posted by others.

For example, I just looked at thread in the US Coins Forum by Stewart, where he posts his New Purchase at 6:43 today. Others are talking about the photo, but I can't find any photos anywhere.

But I can see other photos for many other posts, but only about 50-60% of the total posts.

Perhaps this is some sort of format issue, where I can't view certain formats.

Sometimes a quick refresh will get them to load. I know here at work sometimes a page quits loading before it gets to the photos.

In the US Coins forum, Stewart posted a thread yesterday called "New Purchase,Thoughts ,Opinions,Wierd Smileys"

Apparently, the discussion is about his photos, but I only see text in his box. The only photo I'm able to see on that thread is Ripley's cent a few posts down.

So that's my example.

Refreshing doesn't help.

But I am able to see many other photos. So I wonder what the difference is with Stewart's post.

Anyway, not critical. I can see about 60 to 70% of the pictures posted here.

OK, as an independent check, I tried to view the above mentioned post by Stewart on my IPhone.

On the IPhone, the entire page loads all of the posts first, then goes back and loads Stewart's photos, very slowly, but at least the IPhone loads them.

Must be a setting on my computer or a firewall that stops the page from loading more data after a certain time has elapsed or after the page has loaded once.

OK, so it's something on my machine here. That's all I wanted to know.
