1945 copper wheat penny

Hey everyone! I'm new to coin collecting, so I've been going through years of collected change in jars. I found a 1945 copper wheat penny - it's in slightly rough condition, but I thought they made mostly steel pennies in the early 40's. I thought it might be somewhat rare. Any comments?

The steel cent was only minted (on purpose) in 1943.

Steel cents were minted in 1943 only. Your 1945 bronze cent is a normal cent.

Keep looking.

I found a 1944 copper penny last week. Actually, my girlfriend found it in the bottom of her purse. It was probably an F-12. It is probably only worth $0.10 but I still like to find the old ones once in a while.
