quality of clad and silver proof

I'm getting ready to order my clad and silver sets from the mint. I've been reading some bad reports about the quality of the coins. I wonder if the problem has been corrected by now or should pay the extra and go to the coin shop and pick some out....

The only people who speak out unsolicited are the unhappy. The great majority of US Mint coins are outstanding.

Timm, I received two sets on Saturday and I thought they were just fine. Got two more on order due to arrive early next week. I'm sure they will be equally acceptable. Bottom line...don't be afraid to order from the us Mint....

My silver set from the mint should be here Monday or Tuesday, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed! If I had a dealer nearby, I would definitely go and pick out a set...even if it cost extra.

I just got my silver set today and it's great. No spotting or finger prints like I saw on other threads.

After weeks of worrying about when I would get it and in what condition, now that I got it I want some thing else.

I just received three silver proof set and one set had spotting on one of the pennies and another one had a small spot on the Half Dollar so I am taking those individual holders out of both set and combining them together to return one (less then satisfying) set.
