QUESTION about arab/persian coins - where from?
Hi guys; here I want to ask about the countries of a few coins - I have to post a link to the pictures, because I cant spell it (the signs/language...)
So it's about the coins in the FIRST row of the big picture only (the ones with foreign writings of course, which I can not "google") :

Hey Orc, cool - so the UCO's (UnknownCoinObjects) getting less
To better read the lines of my coins, I repeat it like this (like in my auction) and write into the hints you gave me: (lion = Ethopia that's what I would have guessed Rastanation! )

And thanks to Orc I went to Mr.Wiki, who told me the currency of etiopia:
"The birr (Amharic: sign?) is the unit of currency in Ethiopia. Before 1976, dollar was the official English translation of birr. Today, it is officially birr in English as well.
In 1931, the Emperor of Ethiopia, Haile Selassie I, formally requested that the international community use the name Ethiopia (as it had already been known internally for at least 1600 years) instead of Abyssinia, and the issuing Bank of Abyssinia also became the Bank of Ethiopia. Thus, the pre-1931 currency could be considered the Abyssinian birr and the post-1931 currency the Ethiopian birr, although it was the same country and the same currency before and after."

Here is a pic of my 1936 Etheopian... I like it. Traci -
Wow, acanthite, THANKS a LOT; it feels like a non-alphabetic sitting before those coins, now it's nice to know where they are from.
And yes, a wise man asks, but there's always a wiser man, who can READ. Thanks -
Ripley and De Orc, I was a bit wondering about the coin that we thought it was Ethiopian, because the head on the back was absolutly not "Rasta-like"-looking ...on Ripleys Coin it's different, that guy look real, man. -
