Am I crazy or are these really nice for the grade?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=250454545592\

I found the link on "mint news blog" and I was surprised by how nice these "low"grade coins were.

WOW, I missed this thread or I would own those coins...........

Even if they upgraded, 64's would get you about 40-45$$$$ each, but the rattler holders, a roll of them would have been well worth selling price.

There is no profit in paying to resumbit these, but to sell as is would have been easy, at a substantial premium.

DanR, good eye bud.

Some look like strong 63's, but I tell you others are 64's, and that is a fact.
Beautiful coins, and lots of coins in the rattlers are undergraded, not all, but some.
So yes, those are really nice for the grade.

You ARE crazy if you think you can state, as fact, that they are under-graded. I guess you haven't seen enough real life examples of how wonderful coins can look in images compared to how they look in-hand. And that applies, even to much better images than those.

I said some are 64's, I didn't say that they were all undergraded, but I will say that some of those look undergraded to me, and they look like nice ones for that grade, that is for sure.

I didn't say you said they were all under-graded. But you did say, in part "... but I tell you others are 64's, and that is a fact." That sounds WAY too certain to me, based on images. In fact, I might say the same, even if you had seen them in hand and passed judgment with such certainty.

I can admit poor choice of words on my part, but solely based on images those look good for the grade, and those are possible candidates for 64's, for sure. (And yes you cannot grade accurately from images, but is always fun to try)

Now the winning bidder must decide a few things. Do they send the pieces believed will upgrade, raw or in the original "Rattler" holder ?
If I were to submit for an upgrade, I would keep them in the holder and bite the bullet if it didn't upgrade. A few may go one or even two grades up. All in all, without upgrades, the investment in this lot was a nice buy, probably about $200.00 less than I would have suspected.

Hard to tell from the photos, especially with no reverse! That said, I see maybe seven, that might possibly be higher grade 63s, maybe 64s. And, at most eight that might be PLs, way too hard to tell from the supplied pics tho. I wonder why no reverse pics?

Wow - I just need to adjust my definition of low grade. Some of them certainly look nice.

Super common coin in a super common grade in a rare (these days) slab, with a small price delta between 63 and 64 grades. Pass.

That said, they do look nice in the photos (but scans are notorious for hiding problems in coins with mirrored fields), but this seller is no dummy and I suspect he's submitted the really obvious upgrades already.
