My Mood: | The final nickel for my type set! :-) shield with RAYS!
This was pulled a problem free ANACS slab. It has a weak strike, which is common for this date; but it has lots of luster! Also some interesting die crackish stuff going on on the reverse. Opinions?

Very nice. I like it a lot more than my only shield nickel which is a corroded fa-2

Nice coin ! I am a nickel collector...or as some say a nickel nut. I have a 1866 xf-40 just like this one with the die crack running the same area. I also have a 66 repunch . your coin looks very nice to me ... is it slabed or raw?

It was slabbed, but as of today, it has been set free from it's plastic prison!! I'm putting together a high grade Dansco type 7070 set.

Neat coin, and probably the toughest of all the nickel types. Congrats.

Nice coin.
It has character with the die crack.
Mine is an AU-55 and is a bit weaker than yours.
Tough coin to get well struck.

Beautiful coin. In all the years that I've been collecting, I've yet to own a shield nickel in any condition. Congrats on your type set. Ready to start another one?
