My Intro to CT and Storage Question??

Hey all, I'm glad to be a part of the CoinTalk Community! I've known about CT for a while, but never signed up until today (I got most of my coin news and updates from bloggers). But now I see how much more info is available through here! Thanks again. I look forward to expanding my young coin knowledge with everyone's wisdom!

I do have a question. I recently identified that I have a MOISTURE problem in my safe. From what I can tell, the coins (thankfully in tubes or other storage) didn't get much if any moisture in them. However, I recently bought a 2009 UHR and want to make sure it stays in great shape (even though I know gold can withstand more than say copper or silver). Obviously the silica gel packets I had in my safe were not doing the trick. I saw something called DampRid the other day. Online it says their moisture absorbing crystals are a salt product. The website also says that the moisture the DampRid collects comes into contact with metal, it will corrode it. I would assume that as long as I kept it out of contact with my coins it should be okay, but does anyone know or would they reccommend the DampRid product?

Thanks again to everyone, and any help that someone could provide on DampRid.
