New wheatie collector!

No,not me.I'm talking about my 7 year old son. He's starting to show more interest in coins now and yesterday he told me he wanted a set of steelies. So we sat down and checked out ebay and this is what he bought(with his own allowance money mind you!)

I appreciate the advice about the books.I guess I should clarify that I was posting that my son is the new collector. I'm fairly new on this board and I do have my own Lincoln collection thats about 95% complete and I do have the book you mentioned.I was just happy that now me and him have something else to do together.

Hey that is a nice start to any collection
Might I suggest buying some coin reference guides like the 2010 Red Book, or A Guide Book Of Lincoln Cents.
They can be bought here.

http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/prod...oln-cents.html

http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/product/red-book.html

These are good books to read, and should help your son
Congrats on your son's new found passion for collecting

I would go to your local coin dealer and get a handful of wheats (don't pay more than $0.08 from the dealer bin) and he would probably have a lot of fun looking through them!

That is great to hear! Tell him he did well on his first purchase and to have spent his own allowance money too! He will definitely respect the coins more in the future i think.
Glad you found a hobby you can share together
