Well maybe it was meant like this: I bought coins that look like that, and they came back MS63
Meaning he bought coins like that, sent them in, and thought they may grade higher, and they didn't and he is using his personal experiences to grade the coin.

I agree, , even up to MS65 isn't worth submitting.

I think MS65's are worth submitting, but lower than that, is better to buy pre-slabbed.
I would have no problem paying a nice 63/664 price for a 65, and submitting it. I guess it depends on the year/mint mark

so $75.00 63/64 money, and you would submit for a potential 65 grade ( value $140 ) ? well, for me I would not deem that a justifiable expense for the return. But that's just me.

I personally doubt it is going to be good enough to submit. It looks like a 63 to me. I would be fine with that because that's still a decent deal for me. Now if there aren't many marks, then maybe it's a 64 but still not worth submitting. I paid $25 free shipping in case anybody was wondering.

I'm a bit "stingy" anyways. But what if it didn't come back in a 65 holder, now you just increased your cost factor, by how much? and you still are left with a 63/64 coin valued @ $65.OO/$75.OO. But you are spending your money, so it's your right to do as you think. I'm anxious to see better photos, I think at this point , we all are.

Maybe you can throw it in, if you join PCGS on a higher level like Gold or Platinum, because you get free submissions, 4 for gold level, and 8 if you join at platinum level. So lets say you have 3 coins, you want to send in, out of 4 submissions, and your vouchers are just about to run out, well you can always throw this coin in the order if you want.
Just a thought.

Coinman, I wasn't talking about this coin specifically, when I wrote my post, I didn't think, that this coin was a 65, that was not my point.
My point was if you can pay 63/64 money, plus fees, and GET A 65 coin, that grades 65, not buy a 63/64 coin, that is a 64 and get it in a 65 slab

Ok I kinda get the gist of what your saying now. In this case, if there was a really good shot at a 65, given what MAn paid for the coin, certainly it's worth a shot, at worst it's a break even scenario if it returns 63/64

Given what he paid for it, the most lucrative scenario I think, would be as you stated with the free submission. Now That makes absolute sense to me, and say three hail mary's and 20 "our fathers" it comes back a 65. hehe

I like how clean the fields are though no matter the technical grade.
