Question about abbrevations

I am new at all this and have a question about some of the abbrevations:

MS
MSDM
MSPL

when a coin has the following beside it: TF; 7/8TF (as in 1878 7/8TF)

Could someone please enlighten me?

We use a lot of 2, 3, and 4 letter acronyms. I call a 3 letter acronym a TLA. Yup, Three Letter Acronym

A few more:

VAM = a particular variety of Morgan or Peace Dollar identified by a specific die marriage
PL = Prooflike
FB = full bands (Mercury Dimes)
FBL = full bell lines (Franklin Halves)
CN = copper-nickel (Flying Eagle Cents & 1859 to mid-1864 Indian Head Cents)
CBH = Capped Bust Half
SL = Seated Liberty
FEC = Flying Eagle Cent
IHC = Indian Head Cent
WLH = Walking Liberty Half

There are many, many more. You can usually figure most of them out if you think about them.
