Smile My latest note

My Uncle who had recently passed traveled the world as a missionary and left a lot of foriegn notes and change with my Grandmother whenever he saw her over the years. She gave them all to me last night and this was among them. Curious as to what the numbers on the back bottom left could be and possable value. If you can not see, its a 1950 note.

Hi, you have a 1950 A $10 Federal Reserve Note in good condition. From the looks of things I would grade this note EF-40, though the bill is poorly centered, thus lowering the value. I'd estimate the value around $20-$30. I'm clueless as to the numbers on the back. Hope this helps.

I have no plans on selling this one at all, just trying to get an idea if I should stash it in the safe or leave it with the other things I have like this by the couch to show people.

My scan is a little off on the top one. The bottom is dead on accurate as to how far off the cut was. The front has the same margins as the back.

That would be my guess as well. These numbers were added after the note was printed. One possibility is a teller stamp...but there is no way to know for sure.

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle...it sounds like his collection has a good home though. I'm sure they are worth more to you than they are in actual collector value. Hang onto them.
