Thumbs up Another New Guy

Hello,
I'm relatively new to coin collecting and joined this forum to learn more about coins and seek reliable answers to questions that I have. I have read a few of the posts and feel that I made a wise choice. Thank you.

You picked the best spot on the web for asking questions on coins. I joined the same reason that you did and I have learned some cool things that I never knew. And welcome to the forum!

Hi - thanks for asking,
I have been collecting (mostly) US coins, beginning with a relatively small collection that my dad left when he died two years ago. I guess the excitement for me is to try to leave my two sons with a collection (each) so for the most part I've been building current mint and proof sets (back to 1956 and US coin albums although I have single coins dating back to 1863. I don't really have a specialty, although I do seem to have more pennies than any other.
I really enjoy reading the tips and informational "guides" that are in this forum. and as a matter of fact, I just read a post that mentioned "1908 S IHC" and I don't know what that means so I'm going to search next on that.

Welcome to the Forum! The 1908 S IHC, is a Indian Head Cent that was minted just before the Lincoln cent. The 1908 S was the first minor coinage struck at a branch mint, which was San Francisco.
