Let's Talk

A coin forum like Coin Talk is not just a place where you can come to ask questions about your coins - it's also a community. It's a gathering place where people who don't know each other at first can gather and discuss a subject in which they share a common interest. And after a while - it is also a place where we all make new friends.

Now normally when people join a community, they try to find someplace they like - someplace they want to be. Where they can talk with like minded individuals. And if someone decides they don't like the community, they tend to not stay there. For why stay someplace where you don't like it ?

When Peter set up Coin Talk, he established rules that in his opinion would make Coin Talk a friendly and family oriented community. Someplace where young and old alike could come together and discuss the hobby of coin collecting - without having to worry about bad language. Without having to worry about being inundated with posts containing SPAM. Without having to worry about personal attacks being made upon you because you hold a particular opinion.

Because of that, certain rules were made - and they are strictly enforced. But anytime you have rules - you're bound to have somebody that doesn't like them. Or somebody that thinks the rules don't apply to them simply because they think the rules are not fair or they are stupid rules. Or that they should be able to say whatever they want to say - just because they want to say it.

But in any community, there are rules. We all have them in our own towns, our workplaces, our schools and even in our own homes. And we have them here at Coin Talk.

And while there are going to continue to be rules at Coin Talk, and some of them will never change, you the members of Coin Talk are the ones who make up this community. So we would like to hear what you have to say about those rules.

Your opinions matter, but that doesn't mean anything will change - it doesn't mean it won't change either. It just means you are being offered the chance to state your opinion - just like you can in any community.

So - comments ?

Coin Talk Code of Honor
1. Post unto others as you would have them post unto you.
2. Keep it clean, like a 1950s family television show.
3. If you don't like the coin, don't trash the person.
