Quiz: Do you know what this is?

Howdy peeps,

I ran across an interesting token that I knew nothing about so I researched it and found out what it was and figured it would be an excellent addition to my copper collection.

Now, the big question is, do you know what that is?

Do not post the answer in the thread!

PM me with the answer!!!!

I don't want you to answer in the thread, since that will give it away to those that don't know what it is, yet they should know, so PM me with your answer and I will post who all got it right.

This is a U.S. token that anyone who collects early U.S. coins should know so if you don't know what it is, see if you can figure it out.

Ribbit

Ps: Here's a hint - Ruben should know what it is! Also, it has a medal turn and not a coin flip orientation. And it's the same size as a Lincoln Cent.

Pps: When PM'ing me with the answer, please provide a complete answer, which means what is it and where is it from.

Here's the list of who's got it right so far:

NPCoin
byrd740
PennyGuy
Cherylkubucko
the_man12
hontonai
coinman0456
Speedy
pennywise

Good job guys & dolls!

Why, yes, Mr. Toad, I do know what it is!

But I doubt Ruben will...he's not THAT old is he?

There's some interesting history surrounding this little token and I couldn't believe I had never read about it before. Plus, it is right up my alley so it's a must have for my collection.

I figured if I didn't know what it was, there's bound to be many more here that don't know but they should so this will be interesting to find out if anyone here does know what it is and the ones that don't know should be somewhat shocked when they find out the story behind it. I think come Sunday night, there will be a few members that will have this on their "to get" list.

I may give you 1/2 credit for such an imaginative answer.

This thread has had 125 views and 6 peeps have gotten the answer correct so that averages out to 5% knew the answer or at least took the time to research it to find the answer.

I wonder what the number will be by tomorrow night?

Ribbit

Ps: This token, to the best of my knowledge, is not listed in the Red Book but considering it's unique history, I find that a little odd.

Who knows?
