1797 Mexican 8 Reale

Well, the results are in! VF Details/Authentic/Scratched

I bought this coin at an auction last year. I just wanted it because I had never had a coin in the 1700's and the price was decent. Soon after buying it, I had questions about it being authentic and I posted it on a few sites to get feedback. Pretty much all of it was positive as far as the coin being authentic, but obviously cleaned at some point. So last weekend when I was up at the Central States show, I submitted it to NCS for authentication and "cleaning" or as they say "restoration". I submitted two coins, but this is technically my first coin ever submitted. I just received an email last night with the results and the charges posted on my bank account. I have to say I was surprised because it was half of what I expected. I don't have the coin in hand, but I should by Monday (hopefully).

Here are the "before" pics. I am really looking forward to seeing the coin in hand to see what NCS has done to it. Lets see if they can "improve" the look of the coin. Pics of the after results will be posted when it comes in. Thanks for looking.
