Another post for another 1984 will soon follow.

It appears to be a slight MD. Very common in the 80's. For the 1984 the only doubling I'm aware of is the Double ear lobe.

Although this coin does not exhibit any evidence of being a doubled die, the doubled ear version is not the only die variety to be found on Lincoln's of that year. There is one that we call a "doubled bust". Lincoln's bust is doubled along the bottom, the hairline is doubled across the top, the date is doubled to the southeast and it is all fairly easy to pick up.

It should also be mentioned that there is a nice 1984 D DDO that shares many of the characteristics of the "doubled bust" die variety on the 1984 Philly coin.

Have Fun,

Bill

The die has to be in late die state before die deterioration becomes an issue, and this die is in EDS to MDS. It's not die deterioration doubling...which looks completely different from anything on this coin.

I see what could possibly be a little machine doubling, but otherwise see nothing at all on the coin outside a normal 1984 cent.
