| Foreign Coin Albums? Where to find?
I have been searching high and low for foreign coins albums as a way to spread my wings in an feasible way. I find many suppliers advertize Australia albums but are always out of stock and cannot tell me when they will be available. Also, do other countries such as Denmark, Germany and others publish their own albums and if so does anyone have a source as to where to acquire them? Hopefully from a company in the US as to avoid extravagent shipping charges. Thanks folks.

Here in Germany some people use such pre-produced topical albums for euro coins, e.g. the annual circulation coin sets, the European €2 commemorative coins or the German €10 collector coins. But most people don't, and with pre-euro coins it may be difficult to find that type of album. A box or sleeves that tell(s) you in advance how they want to be filled ... nah.

One is for date sets of all Japanese coins made from 1948 to 1979. The other is a type coin album of all Japanese coins made since the 1870s.

How much do they cost? Is it the type where you push the coin in and see only one side, or the type with plastic slides so you can see both sides of the coin?
Thanks

-wheatiefan | The album I have was a gift. I'm thinking it would probably retail for around $20. I don't know if they are easy to find, although I could probably find another one if I asked around. It is the type of album with plastic slides that allow you to see both sides of the coin.

That's a nice start. We have found Japanese albums. Now how about albums from other countries like Phillipines,Denmark,Gt. Brtain and so on. Tell us where or how you acquired them. I cannot imagine we are the only country that produces coin albums for numusmatists. Thanks folks.

-wheatiefan | I've located a company that sells the Japanese type coin album. Apparently, the retail price is closer to $43.00 (not including postage). Here's the web site (in Japanese), where you can at least take a look at the album: http://www.rakuten.co.jp/icoins/434477/438215/438216/

Thanks for the Japanese Coin Album links. I've been searching as well. If anyone comes across any other means of purchasing these type of albums (perhaps found in the states) please post the info. Thanks!

Many thanks for the links and sources. I knew there had to be answers for this and thanks to you they are coming in. I know that for anyone who has a busy schedule that putting together customalbums can be expensive and time consuming so let's keep this thread rolling. Thanks to all! |

Other potential sources are World Coins or Ginza Coins, both in Tokyo. You can contact them at info@coins.co.jp or ginza-co@ginzacoins.co.jp. Based on having been in both shops, I'm sure they each have someone who will respond in English to any inquiry.
I've never seen a foreign coin folder or album (other than Canadian) in stock at any US dealer's shop or website, nor on ebay or any other auction site.
