1986D tipped Jefferson mintmark.

I think I asked this in the wrong forum. I would post a pic but have not figured how to here yet so could use a few tips on that also.
I have a 1986d B.U. Jefferson nickel still in it's mint packaging that has the mintmark tipped over to the right and nearly touching the rim. I'm looking at the coin straight on with the bust straight up, so it is not a visual deception. Can anyone tell me if this is an error or was common for the date. Does it have any extra value? Just curious. Thanks a bunch.
