Jefferson Nickels from the Lehigh Collection

Up for sale this week are 8 Jefferson Nickels and one Morgan Dollar. I will list a description, price, and photo for each coin. Anyone interested in a particular coin should send me a PM. The prices listed are fair IMO, but I will entertain reasonable offers on any coin listed. If you would like additional photos, including slab photos, please PM me as well. I will offer an unconditional 30 day return policy to any CT member that buys one of my coins, however I will not pay for return shipping.

Coin#1: Jefferson Nickel 1938-D NGC MS67----------Price: $75

A very well struck early Jefferson with even gold toning on both sides and a price just under Numismedia Wholesale $81

Coin#2: Jefferson Nickel 1939-S Rev of 38 NGC MS66----------Price: $75

This coin is extremely attractive for a scarce issue with a population of 517/108. The obverse peripheries are sandy while the fields and portrait are icy blue with golden yellow streaks. Superb surfaces and powerful luster make give this coin a bold appearance. The reverse is more delicately toned with pale yellow, blue, and grey with evident die polish lines. This coin would be a great addition to a Jefferson Nickel registry set. (Numismedia Wholesale $68)

Coin#3: Jefferson Nickel 1941-D NGC MS67 6FS----------Price: $175

Another superb premium gem Jefferson that would fit nicely into a registry set. This coin has it all, high grade, eye appeal, full strike as evidenced by the 6FS designation, and a population of just 157/1. The coin has sandy peripheries with traces of gold, blue, and violet iridescence. NGC has no price guide on this coin so I will list it at $10 below PCGS price guide.

Coin#4: Jefferson Nickel 1943-D NGC MS66----------Price: $45

A war nickel with dramatic rainbow toning of plum, tangerine, lime green, and lemon yellow. At 2X Numismedia Wholesale ($23), how can you go wrong.

Coin#5: Jefferson Nickel 1944-S NGC MS66----------Price: $25

Coin#6: Jefferson Nickel 1945-D PCGS MS66 Omaha Bank Hoard----------Price: $50

This coin has booming luster with fantastic pastel rainbow toning on both sides. Peach centers are surrounded by pastel lavender and powder blue with touches of lemon yellow at the borders. A spectacular toned coin rarely seen from the Omaha Bank Hoard.

Coin#7: Jefferson Nickel 1949-D NGC MS66----------Price: $30

A superbly toned Jefferson with intermingled pale green and violet on both sides. A wonderful affordable coin for the toning enthusiast. (Numismedia Wholesale: $24)

Coin#8: Jefferson Nickel 1950-D NGC MS66----------Price: $50

Another nicely toned Jefferson of what is considered the key date of the series. You probably shouldn't believe that because this issue is very common in mint state. However, you should believe this is a pretty example of the date listed just above Numismedia Wholesale of $43.

Coin#9: Morgan Dollar 1886 PCGS MS64----------Price: $150 (3X Numismedia Wholesale)

A nicely reverse toned Morgan Dollar with shades of greenish yellow, cyan, violet, and orange. I don't know how it happened but that is not a scratch on the obverse, stray hair on the holder. (Numismedia Wholesale $50)
