Is it seriously worth this much?

I found these two bills on ebay, i think both are ridiculous, but are either of these worth as much as the asking price? (I Posted the titles)

    AHMET SANDIKCI 1905 $20 GOLD " TECHNICOLOR " CGA GEM 68
(free shipping, way too much to be worth it)

    &

$5 2006 BOSTON FW STAR PCGS 68PPQ FANCY SERIAL #18
(amazing serial number but i could buy some better and older notes for that price)

How much should these be worth

While the $20 Technicolor Gold note is a very expensive note...I or probally no one else would pay that for an example. While many will want to check the validity of a 68 but cert #....the $5 note you can find most anywhere for 20-30 USD and thats on the high side..most of these you can get a high grade easily...I would not pay that for a new Sereis $5 Star...

Sorry I missed the #18 SN..some folks will pay that but not me...I have other fish to fry...

    Regards,

$20 is high I do believe. Book lists Gem CU 65 at 80K. It's that guy from Arcade. I think he just likes to show off. The $5 I'm not so sure about. Sounds like a lot of hype, but it is a really low S/N.

all you have to do is take a look at the seller... rememeber the name Click here to enlarge thats all you need to know lol

do a search for the name on the forum ... the resutls shoudl tell you lots!

basicaly, the seller is well known for selling high quality notes for very unrealistic prices. Notes like the $20 gold cert above is a stunnign note true, but for the cost of the auction on Ebay, he does get alot of publicity off of it, even if noone buys it!

The $5 note is a very nice example and a super low serial. I would expect it to fetch a real nice premium, but im not inclined to see it go for the asking price. It would be cool to see the offers to see what folks really are willing to pay for it!!

I have to agree with Daggarjon. The seller is like the P. T. Barnum of paper money.

Although the notes do have a Buy It Now price, that's not necessarily what he expects them to sell for. He does have the Make Offer option.

The Buy It Now is the attention getter, the Make Offer is what makes the sale.

    I'll third the motion.
Also notice that it's a CGA holder and they do not have the best name amongst paper TPGs.
