Thumbs up 3 mules!

I have never previously found anything of unusual value in circulating change, roll-searching or in items I've bought from the mint.

I learned recently (CoinWorld Feb 16th) about the First Spouse bronze medal mule pairing the 2007 Abigail Adams obverse with the 2008 Louisa Adams reverse. These are present only in complete 2007 sets. I had ordered 3 sets late in 2008.

I checked them and to my surprise, all 3 sets contained the mule. You can see that the Louisa Adams reverse is in the same sealed packet as the Martha Washington reverse.

Does anyone know how many of these likely were made?

The 2007 sets are sold out. My understanding is that they were cleared out during the "last chance" sale at the mint late last year.

I had no idea what they are worth. I don't know if the prices on Ebay are just temporary exuberance or if they are more rare than I thought.

Sell now. Before they drop in price. You may want to consider keeping one set in case the price soars. They are rare, and collectors really like mules.

well, you guys have certainly answered my next question which is whether they are likely to go up or down in value. Wouldn't that depend on how many there actually are?
