Cool deal, Ed!

Any chance of someone posting a scan or at least a hint as to what it is in reference to?

Oh, OK. Should have known if it was about Ed, it was either Lincolns, or slabs.

That's OK, Ed. Remember, there's no such thing as "bad publicity". LOL (just kidding)

Paul Gilkes somehow got my email and contacted me after "somebody" told him I was pretty opinionated about the subject. [Me?? Opinions?? must of been somebody else... ]

I met up with him at the FUN show in Florida and basically told him that these are bad fakes now...but what happens when they get good? I also had some of those files saved before ebay pulled the plug. I also showed these to both PCGS and NGC people and they said they are aware of this.

That was pretty much my concern. I also told him that forums like Coin Talk have really helped me and others learn about these scams, plus I learned a whole slew of great information. So kudo's to Coin Talk.

I haven't seen it, but I will have to find a copy. Thanks for the heads up!

Cool

Way to go Ed! You're famous! Woo-hoo! Even better, now even more people can be on the lookout for these fake slabs thanks to you. Keep up the good work!

Thumbs up

Thanks for the heads up Ed. that was a great article that I have pointed out to others at work several times. Actually it was that article that pointed me to this forum. I was a member of the old CoinWorld forum (Digger) and sure missed reading the posts there. I was so glad to read about CoinTalk and then discover that several of my fellow CW forum members are here too.

Welcome Steve...what I learned about all of the good and bad of collecting coins pretty much comes from diving into books, shows, my local dealer and this forum!
