My Mood: | What's an average price for a wartime silver nickel?
Around what would I expect to pay for a non-key date silver wartime nickel? Like a 1943-P, 1944-D, 1945-S, or other dates...let me know, please.
Thanks

In those grades it is going to be minimal, maybe $2 - $3 at the most for XF's. I have bought entire sets in Gem BU for $70.

Thanks, I've found the dates I mentioned above, between VG and XF, for about a buck each.

Oh, 4 years ago maybe. Bought a set for my son - he collects nickels.

The lower grades are going to be around $0.75 to $1.00 each. The higher grades you mentioned, maybe, at most, $2.00.
These don't really start to pop in value until AU and/or full steps.
I buy them for close to melt value.

decent circulated coins about a buck a peace, at least that is what I paid for a set a couple of years ago. Purchased a NGC 66 set for for $249 this year and believe that was a fair price. I love these coins and just wanted a nice set. Steel cents are now on my hit list

My Mood: | Buy the coin not the set. First with only a couple dollars difference between circulated and uncirculated coins I would not buy one in circulated condition. Second if I were to buy a coin and had the money to invest in an uncirculated set I would consider a 1942S, 1944P, or a 1944P in MS66FS condition. |
