Lucky Day - Old SC's and two USN's

This morning I was handed a thick bank sleave of notes. The story goes while cleaning out the house of a passed relative this person found a very large stash of money. This person brought it to the bank and deposited it. The teller needed to have the amout verified by my friend the head teller and to her surprise there were many sc's and usn's. The receiving teller had first dibs and apparently I got the left-overs. $50 all together 20 sc ones, four sc fives, and two usn fives. Wish I could have seen the nice notes But I am very-very happy to have this group at face value!!!

She picked them up before christmas so it may be to late but I asked her to go back and check for any older frn's.

I'll post pictures tonight when I have normal access.

Silver Certificates and United States Notes, two different types of currency that are still out there. Still legal tender, but worth more than face and their Federal Reserve Note counterparts.

Funny thing is this is from a small town north of Pittsburgh - you just never know.

Thanks

I know what you mean. I live in a Philly suburb, and most of my good finds had come not from the "big banks", but from a small single-teller bank hidden in a business park! Sometimes the smallest banks have the biggest rewards!

Thanks RickieB

The first group of ones is series C and D
The second group is E
The third group is F

The $5's SC's are 57

I wish those one's were 35 and 35A.

Best Regards ~ Darryl

He means a note serial number that starts with "M" and ends with "A" .

A 1935 Silver Certificate with these letters and that is a mule note in CHCU condition could be worth $1500.
