Plated Cent - Win a Silver Certificate

Guess what this cent is plated with, and how.
(Plating is on the edge too)

Prize is a 1957B Silver Cert (circulated), and is now posted.

Contest is Over

Congrats to Silvrluvr for his correct guess of Melted Aluminum.
He has decided to donate the prize to someone who doesn't have one.

here's the prize:

OK, its a little early, but you may begin.

You may guess up to 3 times (each guess includes both parts)

Original Post updated.

It was done by wrapping the coin in aluminum foil, and heating it up to the point where some of the aluminum (remember, it's just thin foil) liquefied and transferred to the coin.

I was actually trying to Tone the coin in the experiment, but I think the temperatures were too high
