Post What are culls

Hi my name is eric i have some roman coins and just started to collect. I was on a site and thay were offering culls ?
What are culls ?

My Mood:
culls are the ones that have been picked out because they are generally to poor quality to be able to sell. usually uncleaned, they are of really low quality often blank, chipped and worthless. unless you are really lucky and you are great at cleaning coins you wont get much out of these im afraid. http://www.romeosromancoins.co.uk/

Outside coin collecting circles, the term "cull" means to reject unacceptable specimens as in "culling a herd" of animals.

So a cull is a seriously troubled problem coin - aka a filler. It has little or no eye appeal; all it does is fill a hole.
