1869 3 cent piece alot of doubling

I have had this coin for a while and cannot find any info on these type of doubling for these coins. Maybe somebody has some insight as to the value? I paid $19.00 about 3 years ago for it.
As you can see there is a ton of doubling on the obverse could not find any on the reverse.

WOW! Nice doubling at the date. I think a lot of the doubling around the bust and lettering is from die fatigue or die deterioration. Also, it is common for coins from this period to show doubling all around the lettering, some think it might be caused by the shoulder of the letter punch penetrating the die, as stated in the Doubled Die monologue posted in this forum.

But the date is a great example of a doubled die! Cool!

Your 3c nickel is listed in the Cherry Picker's Guide as FS-004.5 and shows a value of $45 in XF, $160 in MS60 with an estimate of 251 to 500 pieces known. Congratulations!

Very nice, an excellant repunched date and a sper eample of Longacre doubling. The Longacre doubling is commonly seen on the lettering but much less often seen on the devices.

I've seen a number of error 3-Cent pieces, but very few that did not show considerable wear.
