would this serial number be worth over face?

I found a crisp 20 today with a center fold with the serial number 77888888 would it carry a premium over face?

Too bad about the fold. Whether or not it's worth over $20 I'd save it just because of the serial number!! What series and district is it from?

Thats a binary...certainly a keeper but I don't know wheres the value gonna stand due to its centre fold. I do keep these type of serials for my collection in whatever grade possible.

I'd say it would have a premium to the right collector. With it's condition, probably not much of one...but sure, the right collector would jump all over that. There are people who collect specific number combos, we have a member here who collects binary notes with 5s and 8s I believe. So, if you could find one who collects 7s and 8s then they might pay a nice premium.

I would keep the note. The number 8 is a lucky number in some cultures, especially in Asian countries. Keep it maybe it will bring you luck.

I belive the BEP even sells a 'lucky money' line with eights in the serial number (for a hefty premium but the notes are CU). I got a neat serial today EI44444456A on a twenty, only twelve numbers from the solid so someone broke up the pack that has all fours in it. I'm keeping my eyes open....
