did you find that with your metal detector??? Nice find. I say VG-8, Buisness strike. Major corrosion, harshly cleaned with a wire brush on an angle grinder

There is too much glare in your pics for me to see for sure, but it does not warrant the previous comments. I cannot really tell if it is a proof, but the glare may well indicate that it is.

You guys are brutal.... ouch! lol. I'll try to get some better pics. It is definitely a proof, and am pretty sure it hasn't been circulated. No corrosion, but possibly cleaned and has some carbon spots. I was thinking it was like a PF-60 details cleaned or something like that.

I also agree it is a harshly cleaned business strike. HOWEVER I think it is at least an EF-40 details.

I think the photos are WAY too bright to make any decisions about this coin. It certainly looks like a proof, but a different set of pics would be really helpful.

I agree 100%.

When taking pictures, try holding a piece of paper in front of your light source. That will cut down on the glare, and if you hold it in the right spot, it shouldnt make the picture much darker either.

Rare, maybe to an extent. 32,600 to be exact. I happen to have a PR63 Red NGC slabbed cent and its an beauty. A small hit on the nose is what gives it a low grade. Barely noticeable except to the trained collector.

Your coin appears to be a proof. I'd bet on it. To nice to have been whizzed. Yet it has much surface contact, for a proof. PR60+ unless it is much better in hand. Pictures suck, when it comes to giving a coin a true evaluation for grading.

Keep on Collecting!!!

Allen
