Would you like an @cointalk.org free email address?

If I were to integrate a Hotmail type feature into Cointalk, which made it possible for you to get a free email account using @cointalk.org, would you use it? Hotmail has become such a spam magnet that I personally avoid it now even though I used it for several years in the late 90s. It would be some expense and effort to implement, though, so I didn't want to go through the bother (like I did with the chat feature a few months back), if nobody would use it.

Hi Peter. I see no one else has replied so I'll be the first. I for one wouldn't use it only because I have three other active e-mail accounts. I think it would be a usefull tool for most other members of Coin Talk though.

    Peter -

Another generous offer on your part. I'd sure take you up on it - but half the known world already has my email address Click here to enlarge So I'm afraid trying to utilize a new one would be futile on my part Click here to enlarge

I used to use hotmail also, and have since moved to yahoo. I think the cointalk email might be useful for some, but would wonder if creating another free, web-based email addy would be a good use of time since others already exist.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. The only real advantage that I could offer over Yahoo or Hotmail or others like them would be that your email wouldn't be sold to spammers. Otherwise, it would be pretty much the same thing. Due to the nature of the response, I'm putting this on the back burner.

That one advantage is a huge one though Peter. It's a fact that Yahoo! sells it's addys to spam outfits. With only a few members replying though I guess no one is really interested ;(

    email

Just a thought - but if you are dealing in coins - would you really want an email address that had the word "coin" in it? I would not - but thank you for the offer, altho I see this was back in Oct.

Hey Neptune, nice to have you back. Click here to enlarge

I understand what you mean, but there'd be no way to trace a person by an @cointalk.org email address. It would actually be safer than using your ISP email address, because it would be much less likely that someone could locate you from it. If anything, they'd find me. But then, I don't have much to take, just a pile of scratched up wheaties and a few tarnished half-dollars. Click here to enlarge

But, there wasn't enough interest in this for me to want to go to the cost and effort, so this is on the back-burner anyway.
