Thats a nice looking circulated example of a 1917 type 1 SLQ you have there Ruben. I started a set of these also and have always admired the design. As far as the grade of your coin goes and considering the date wears very easily I'd have to give yours an F15. Very nice eye appeal though.

Yeah - I like that coin and pulled it out of a bunch. I just like the way that coin wore. Thanks for the grade. I have no idea how to grade these in the lower grades, but I'm getting schooled on the higher grades.

I want to get an example of this coin in MS66...but I have to make some money first...

Can you believe we dumped this coin for the Washington Quarter? How stupid is that..

I have my SLQ set about 50% complete. I havent been concentrating on it much lately. I checked with the Numismedia price guide and your 1917 type 1 SLQ in MS66 will only cost you approx. $1400 dollars.

Here is a pic of my 1917 type 1 SLQ, just to compare to yours....
Sorry, the second pic is a little blurry.....I cant get my Macro setting to work.

Thanks Ruben! I hope to complete the set sometime in the future, within a few years. You must already have your eye on one of those. If you can get that coin for less then you're getting quite a deal. Are you going for the complete set? In any case, good luck!!

I don't really collect sets. I find coins I enjoy and by them and value them individually. I'd rather have a beautiful cheap morgan and a VF expensive key date.
