Nice Ikes Ruben. I too have been trying to assemble a nice set of Ikes. At the risk of being ridiculed, I think the set is about to take off. I don't particularly like the design, but I would like to get a set while I still can at nearly face value.

There inexpensiveness makes them attractive when I'm not working ...but..actually there are nice examples around which carry some real merit.

A silver one like this one for example

http://www2.mrbrklyn.com/images/ike/..._silver_21.jpg

or how about this

No toning at all on those coins!

Hey Ruben, still here... sorry, just got back into town after taking a weekend off and seeing the Giants smack around the Steelers. Your talon heads look like classic textbook examples! Really nice finds there. As far as the other ones, I haven't had a chance to really go over them. On one of your 71 Ikes that you thought may have been mechanical doubling, I couldn't tell. Not a really great pic of the motto and date.

Speaking of text books, my IKE book should be arriving today. I will head out to the mail box here in a few. We have our first coin show next weekend and I look forward to finding some Ikes.

Traffic out the Meadowland must have been rough if you just got back from Sunday..

You know, if you can afford a ticket to the Giants Game we have to talk....

I think the originals might be OK. Maybe I'll take more photo's today with better light.

Well by looking at the pics which is not easy to grade ,it's not a cam or an ultra cam. I would grade it Proof 69 or less maybe 68 by the pics

The game was here in Pittsburgh and the fact that he was able to get tickets here when the locals cannot even find them says he has deep pockets! Giants were healthy and Steelers have too many people out - so if we had won it would just go to show how good a healthy Steeler team is! I hope we meet again this year

btw: Nice Ikes Ruben

Well, I think I found a double die, or a mechanica doubling -- you decide

I've pushed my camera past the end of its capabilities with these shots and they still aren't decisive in my opinion.

I must be out of mind, I'm searching for microscopic defects in otherwise cheap coins and getting lectured about from a guy who claims to be an expert on rust.
