redirect is not working

As an example, clicking on the link

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/09/18/ike...house.standing

gets you to

http://www.cointalk.org/redirect-to/{?redirect=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cnn.com%2F2008%2FUS%2F 09%2F18%2Fike.last.house.standing%2F}

The resulting link is not functional. I have tried several link today all giving me similar results.

There - works now. Problem was the code was posted wrong, I edited it and it works.

Same thread, post #40. There are 10 links in kdkenn's post. None of them work. The earlier link I tried to post also still do not work.

That one is also a posting problem, everything is coded as an image file instead of a URL. It looks like this in code -

Hmmmmm - I can't get the code to post here because the forum software keeps to trying to turn it into an image.

Now I could probably spend an hour fixing it all, but it would be alot easier if KD would just post a single link to that post on the other forum.

edit - I se enow that it is a lot of links to msn dot com. She needs to just post the individual links. The way she did it is not going to work.

If it helps any, toad's and my links on page 2 were individual links.

OK - now go look at your post rlm.

I added the same link using the LINK icon and it works just fine.

For some reason, when you try to just post a link like this - http://www.usc.edu/dept/tsunamis/ala...yacloseup.html - it is creating a problem. Not sure exactly what it is but it seems to be a code problem and it is beyond my ability to fix it - if it can be fixed.

Just use the LINK icon and everything works great.

OK! Have fun, Doug. They work after you post that way UNTIL you leave the page. When you go back and try them again, they do not work - yours or mine.

Not sure if it helps any, but only General Discussion appears to be affected. I follow some of Ardatirion's posts (only because he has a link in his signature). The link works everywhere I checked EXCEPT in GD.

Guilty! I was doing some work on the server, trying to fix something that goes way back a couple years. But, the fix was edited - Peter, Peter, Peter - that's a no-no and not only didn't fix what it was supposed to fix but broke some stuff that wasn't broke. Anyway, I've reversed out the "fix" and all should be good now. If you see any posts that have the incorrectly redirected links, please report them, any moderator can fix it by simply clicking edit and save.
