Can't find this one...HELP!!!

I have looked in several different references, but haven't found this variety. It is not in Cherrypickers guide and the closest description is a large date over small date. This one is a small over large date...HELP

I have a pretty reputable dealer who gives me first dibs on good nickel errors, and he sold it to be 2 minutes after he got done buying it from a customer. The date logotypes match the small and large dates of the year, so I felt pretty confident it is genuine...

It has the appearance of die deterioration like that seen on many 1980s era Jeffs.

That's a monster. You might want to ask about it over at shieldnickels.net

I'll have to agree with nicknack. Looks like die deterioration but I do not know much about the shield series either.
Why don't you post this in the error section and see what Mike Diamond says about it?

Yep - I would email Howard Spindell on shieldnickels.net and see what he says. It is very cool. How about a picture of the whole coin.
