Hello, forum hopping

Hi, I am a regular on several other coin, stamp, and gemmology forums. I have been lurking here reading for a while and decided to at least make a showing. In coins, I am mainly a variety collector from small cents, 3 CN, Buffaloes, and VAM dollars. Indian and Lincoln cent varieties are my favorites. Was very much into coins in the 80s until my son was born, and then found other things to do until I retired a few years ago. I know several of you from other places, which was a good indication I should "speak" up.

Jim

Welcome aboard, Jim (Gem).

Sounds like you like varieties. There are plenty of them out there. Do you have a copy of the Cherrypicker's Guide? (There are two volumes.) If not, you should look into getting one.

Looking forward to your input.

Hi All,

Thanks for the welcome. I added my avatar and photo and feel at home. Hobo, thanks for the help, I do have the 2 CPGs and find them very helpful. And Ziggy, the most authoritative ( and sometimes a little "stiffer" ) is the gemologyonline forum. I am mainly a faceter and also belong to the USFG ( Us Faceter Group on Yahoo groups). A few geology forums also, but I don't spend as much time on them as the stamps and coin groups.

I do love a mystery, I guess that is why varieties are so interesting to me.

Oh, my avatar is an iolite piece of rough.

Thanks,

Jim
