Isle of man platinum noble set, what's it worth????

HI there,
I hope it's ok to post this for my first post...
I'm actually a militaria, orders and medals guy so I have very little, none actually, knowledge about coins.
I have a set of Manx coins, from 1994, limited to 250 sets.
I've added pictures of both sides of the coins. They appear to have been minted at the Pobjoy mint.....they've got little "PM"s on them.
They are both marked platinum but I think only one is.. The serial numbered one appears to be Rhodium plated silver....
I thought if it said platinum it was, but what do I know...
Anyway I hope you guys can help me and thanks in advance.
Cheers
JC

Howdy FJCP - Welcome to the Forum !!

Those coins are worth their melt value and that's about it.

Hello FJCP...
Welcome to Coin Talk...
Nice Coin
Although GD said that they are worth their melt value; chances are that their prices may shoot up in near future as they are limited edition coin. But of course in the end it all depends on their demand as world coins don't see significant price rise due to low demand especially in US.

Platinum is a unusual and exotic metal, not in it's atomic consistencies, but in how it is traded etc. It is also highly volatile, and subject to much wider and consequential price swings than even gold. Curiously I never find it at a price I am willing to pay, the markups usually seem to pad whatever losses the seller have incurred by the holding of it.
