The best places for metal detecting finds in my opinion are the places where people use their loose change a lot like gas stations, vending machines, call booths etc.

Welcome to CoinTalk chainmail!

Some good places to consider looking for old coins are places such as old school grounds, play grounds, fair grounds, or old sites where these things have been known to have existed at one time. Around very old trees.

Certainly you can find things on sites that have recently been excavated, but you should look in places where the ground has not been disturbed for over a hundred years or more.

Good Luck and Keep on Collecting!!!

Allen
