Back into coins after 50 years!

Hi... my name is Jim and I'm back into coin collecting after 50 years (well, maybe it's 45... I started around 1953 and stopped around '63). I sold my collection when I got married in the late 60's, and how I regret that move. I try not to think about about the three dollar gold piece (BU) that my uncle gave me or the 1909-S-VDB (XF) my grandmother bought me for $60. Or the near complete run of walkers (pulled from circulation), standing liberty quarters, etc., etc. So now, in my old age, I'm trying to recapture the feeling I would get trying to fill those old whitman folders. There's a few coin shops in my area, plus the internet... so maybe I can replace most of my old collection (though I think the gold and the S-VDB might be a little pricey). Anyway, I've been trying to get up to speed.. the last red book I bought was around 1960. Hope you guys can help an old collecter!

I guess I'm older than I thought! Anyway, it was great collecting coins back in the fifties when you could pull just about anything out of circulation; and checking our parents change was really a way of life for us young collectors. Not to mention my grandmother bringing home a bag of silver dollars (100 at a pop) from the bank for me search... as I found the dates I needed she would replace with bills and repeat the process. Plenty of Morgans mixed in with the peace dollars. Hard to believe that you could exchange greenbacks one for one. Anyway, thanks for all the support, and hopefully I'll be catching up with the hobby I left so long ago.
