My Mood: | Hello Everyone!
Hey guys, my name is DsDude .
I've always wanted to collect coins, but don't know where to go. There aren't any flea market where I am so. Do you guys have any tips? Right now, I'm collecting all the state quarters, which is fun. I hope to make my collection of coins big!
I love you guys, I love the forums.

Welcome to the forum, State Quarters is a good place to start. You might also search rolls from your local banks, you can find some nice coins and also there is a chance for picking up some errors or varieties also. Next is to search the web and check here to see what some of our members have for sale. Where ever you search and decide to collect, do visit here often, you will learn a lot.

Welcome to CoinTalk.
It might help if you could narrow your question down a bit. What do you plan to collect? Modern coins? Mint issues? Bullion coins? Lincoln Cents? Morgan Dollars?
The best advice I can give at this point is 1) pick an area of coin collecting that interests you and 2) learn as much as you can about it. A common refrain here is, "Buy the book before the coin." In other words, educate yourself on a coin series before you start buying the coins. A book can pay for itself many times over if you put it to use properly.
I would also recommend searching through the threads here. Odds are if you have a question it has been asked - and answered - here before.
Also, attend a coin show if you can. You can learn a lot quickly there. (But leave your checkbook at home until you know what you are doing.)
Good luck.
PS - Where do you live? Someone here may know a good dealer or a coin club in your area.

Welcome to CT , The 1st thing is to buy a grading book , and a Red Book , after you decide what you'd like to collect ask a lot of questions here on the forum , we have experts here on just about anything numismatist . Good luck.

welcome to CT. This is the best place for a new collector to learn. Like others have said, go to a coin show near you. Youll learn a fair bit.
also.. BUY BUY BUY!... books that is. Buy tons of books once you narrow down what you want to collect
