Navigating & Manipulating Coin Talk

Arrrrgggghhhh! I guess it's either the following three things:

1. either I need another college degree to learn how to get around in this site, or,

2. The site is not as user friendly as most sites are, or,

3. I am not as smart as I thought I was for over the past six decades!

This is probably why when I joins waaaaay back when I never came back. But, here I am and I intend to stay this time - If anyone can give me some clear instructions as to how to do stuff, like posting pictures, etc., please do ........... (And, thanks)

I started with a free account at www.photobucket.com. I uploaded pictures from my PC into this site.

Then, when I want to place a pic here, I create my post and stop where I want to insert my pic.

I then go open a window for my photobucket account, copy the address of my picture there ("direct link").

Then go back to my message post and click on the icon in the message screen that loots like a postcard sitting behind a mountain. Up will pop a window where you can enter the address (erase first the lead in address line in that window). Voila, the pic then is inserted into my message.

Go to the test forum first to try this out!

P.S. I've sent you a private message - see the upper right hand corner of your screen and click on the link to see.

Inserting "stuff" ...........

Whew!

I guess I have been spoiled all these years with user friendly systems.

When I wish to insert a pic in my email I simply tap the button "insert pic" which takes me automatically to "my pictures", then I simpply select da pic and wala, it's put right where I wanted it. Then I can simply right click on da pic and change size, wrap text and do some other things.

I guess I'll be doing more chatting than posting pictures of coin ...........

JGAIN -

It's really quite easy to navigate this site, just start on this page - http://www.cointalk.org/index.php - to select the section you want and once there use your forward and back buttons.

When you are finished with a section just click on the link at the top of the page that says - Coin Talk - The Place to Discuss Old Coins - and it will take you back to the Index page again. Then just pick the next section you want to visit.

As for pictures, there are 3 ways to insert pics. You can use a web site that host pics for you and insert the pic using the Image icon, you can Attach pics using the Manage Attachemnts button when posting, or you can just use a link to a pic on a web site.

You're not the only one who has had trouble navigating the process to post photos. That's why Speedy wrote up those instructions. Eventually we'll get it right.

Thats strange. I don't think cointalk is perfect. But its about the most user-friendly site that I frequent.
