I recently found a Canadian nickel that has no year stamped underneath the word Canada (which is underneath the picture of the beaver) on the front of it. The back has a small date stamped "1952-2002". I would assume this means it's a regular 2002 nickel? All the other nickels I have looked at to compare have dates there. Was this something they changed for a while or is this an error? I looked at 2003 and 2004 nickels, and they both have dates, too. If anyone has info, please advise. Thanks. Just a dual-dated nickel. The date appears below the bust along with the "P" mint mark. The mintage on this coin was 135,960,000. In 2000 the RCM began issuing a nickel-copper-nickel plated steel-cored 5 Cent coin. The dual date commemorates Elizabeth II's 50th anniversary as Queen. nds76: where did you get your mintage number?
