Question Stupid coin show question

I plan on going to a small coin show this weekend and am a little short on cash. My stupid question is, what are the chances I could get a little better deal if I paid with star notes? I have quite a few modern star notes and it looks like they have not been selling well on ebay, so I thought I may get a little bit in trade at a show.
What do you think?

It will only work if there is a currency dealer there who wants what you have.

Since you said : "a small coin show" it may or may not work.

Pretty much nails it.

I go to a small show on occasion and know a few dealers (brothers) that will give me a break if I pay with better condition star notes because they have a buyer.

In general I doubt it though. At currency shows in the past I've brought hundreds in star notes. Pay with them and get star notes in change.

I think I may see if any dealer want's them first like treashunt says. If that doesn't work I may just have to bite the bullet and spend them. I will gamble on the hope that whatever I buy has a better chance of gaining value than the notes. Or if I just find a coin that appeals to me more than the notes.

Most of the Dealers I know at local Coin Club Coin Show and even larger Coin Shows in Chattanooga, TN and Dalton, GA will not take Star Notes at any premium on trade but will give Face Value for them on trade.
